Regarding Rob on St. Valentine’s Day…

This annual celebration of St. Valentine’s memory
and how he suffered and perished for his testimony
about the sanctity and sacred vows of matrimony
that would bind lovers for all perpectuity -
What do we make of it all?

Spending lots of time, effort and money
on commercialised hype and saccharine puffery
and suffering personal stress and high anxiety
in case of being forgotten, neglected and left lonely?
Makes little logical sense at all!

If you loved another one well and truly
and wished for them to be cherished and happy
would it matter that whom they loved really
was some other person and not you specifically?
Ah, the pain of the truth after all!

On this St. Valentine’s anniversary
Our own collectively adored One and Only
is wonderfully oblivious of our tortured agony
in loving Him in total and absoluter anonymity…
Oh, the insight that accompanies the fall!

Yet, today we think on His person naturally
and wonder if our dreamy delusions can ever be
knowing that those fancies are not matched to reality
and that romance with him can only ever be imaginary…
But that does not stop us at all!

Oh, our darling gorgeous British Robbie
Know we love you all and completely
We wait to love you huge in Remember Me
and then in Eclipse and Bel Ami,
Happy St. Valentine’s, we remain in thrall!
