This luscious and wild leonine mane
Feral, unkempt and defiant
Let none try to venture or to deign
To make it be quiet or compliant;
Let it ripple, curl and twirl
Spike up or tousled, gelled or blown
Bushy or lanky or natural
Leave that head of hair alone!
…Unless He wants to steal away your breath
And indulge in some private tease
To crop it down ‘til all that’s left
Is an autumn stubble to catch no breeze…
Will you still clamour for the wildwood shrub
That your hands want to wander through?
Or accept this new scrub to jostle and rub
And fondle the scalp now free to view?
Those who love Him without prejudice
Those who adore His lush thick hair
Would still love the crew ‘cos we know this –
After a little track of time, it’ll still be there!
But while it’s high and savage and free
Now while He can !probe! and !rummage! so wantonly..
Now we *imagine*, !yelp! and !squeeee!!!
It ‘s like our idea of …*heavenly*…
